CV/Bio
I have been a monotype/monoprint printmaker for the past 18 years. Originally, an avocation, I now
consider printmaking my vocation. I have always studied art, taking many courses in many mediums over the years, but it wasn’t until I retired from my career in the US Navy that I have devoted myself full time to the art of printmaking. In 1994 while living in Rhode Island, I was introduced to printmaking in an etching class. I continued to study etching for two years until my husband's career relocated us to Virginia Beach. Although relocating disrupted my printmaking studies, I continued to study art in other mediums. In 2003 after moving back to Annapolis, I found a printmaking workshop where I discovered the magic of monotypes. The mystery and surprise of making monotypes captured me and I continue to study, learn and practice this medium almost every day.
